My dad has always been my car guy too and loved to tinker with them and haggle. I didn't inherit that interest. I decided to finally grow up and got a car on my own for the first time last year. He seemed a tiny bit disappointed I didn't include him, but he was impressed nonetheless. Very cool your son is car savvy. Jimmy sounds nice and mellow. Great story!
Loved this post. I've been following you for years as a free reader. I'm intrigued by the Santa Fe workshop, but I'm nowhere near "mid-life." I'm turning 81 in May. After editing my husband's memoir of his sailing years, I'm working on the story of my first of 9 pilgrimages (all but one on various routes leading to Santiago). It's also pretty expensive. But, my main reservation is my age if this is meant for people in mid-life. I'd have loved the workshop then, but I think I would have been too young to appreciate it, or have time for it. Any suggestions?
Hey Linnea, the workshops have included people in their 30s and 80s so I wouldn't let age stop you. The 82 year old guy who was in the workshop I recently took was a force of wisdom (and he definitely has "no f*cks to give") and really loved it. And many people get reduced prices at MEA so if you're excited about my workshop (or any other one) I would definitely give MEA a call and see what's possible. Thanks for your note — truly appreciated.
Great story about Jimmy! Sure wish you were going to Santa Fe a month later. I’m back to my old hometown 8/12 - 8/24. So near and yet so far 🙃

Thanks for clarifying, Larry!
